Subject: 120 N Oak Parking Spaces
Dear Mr.' Peters:
Thank you for meeting with Dan McKeen and me on March 3,2016. The City of Port Angeles
is looking forward to a new business at 120 N. Oak Street. Additionally, the City remains
committed to resolving the parking space issue in the lot immediately to the west of the
building. This letter confirms the City's staff recommendation that City honor and
memorialize in writing the previous verbal agreement regarding the spaces immediately to
the west of 120 N. Oak.
City staff will recommend to the City Council Real Estate Committee that the City grant an
easement to you or your buyer for the six spaces you have previously occupied. And, in turn,
you or the new buyer will grant an easement to the City for the up to three feet of
encroachment remaining parking spaces have on your property. If and when the Real Estate
Committee approves the agreements, City staff will recommend to the full City Council that
the City execute the easements. The City Council will have the final decision regarding this.
Please know that it is very important to City that the building be used in a productive manner.
City staff want to be helpfiil and assist you and your buyer in resolving this in a mutually
beneficial way. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
