CITY Or F1UI T ANGEL E s
CITY CLERK
Mayor Patrick Downie,
Deputy Mayor Cherie Kidd,
Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me today about the Sri Chinmoy Oneness -Home
Peace Run. I love your enthusiasm for welcoming the international team of runners who are carrying
the torch on global run during 2016.
I've also sent you some of the brochures for this year's run. I hope you find them as inspiring as I do.
The plan is for the team to arrive in Port Angeles around 3:00 for the welcome ceremony at Gateway
Center. I have left a message with Corey Delikat to find out if we can also visit a day camp after the
ceremony at Vern Burton Community Center. I think the ceremony would take about 20-30 minutes
which would include a welcome, reading of the proclamation, presentation of the torch, and any other
remarks and/or greetings you would want to make. In 2014, there was a closing and benediction by
Pastor Vince Murray which is always a nice way to close the welcome ceremony. Do you have any
contact with Pastor Murray or other leader to do this again? It's not obligatory, but is nice to do.
Thank you again and I'll keep in touch as we get closer to the day.
