Box 582 Port Angeles, WA 98362 PORT ANGELES 25 ASSOCIATION On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Port Angeles Downtown Association and the Arts & Draughts Beer & Wine Festival Committee we are pleased to share with you this program from our upcoming Second Annual Arts & Draughts Beer & Wine Festival this coming weekend. We would like to invite you to come down and walk around Laurel Street during the festival, take in the sites, not just of the 20 breweries and wineries pouring tastes of 50 different delicious drinks to taste, but to visit the food court and swing through the Arts and Crafts vendors between Front and Railroad. Our Arts & Draughts committee has been working on this event since we wrapped up last year's successful inaugural festival and have been laboring all year long to grow and improve the festival, not just as a PADA fundraiser but to be a classy homegrown event that will showcase our downtown and the beautiful area in which we live. This festival demonstrates the great potential for wonderful things to happen with the close, joint cooperation between our Association and the fine city staff of Port Angeles. We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of the many hard working people at the city who have offered their tangible support and expertise and the assistance of their departments. Our deep thanks to the Port Angeles Police and Fire Department, the office of Public Works, Permitting Department, Sanitation, City Light and Utilities, Park and Rec and the office of Economic Development. This successful cooperation is perhaps one of the festival highlights we are most proud of. Downtown is ready to welcome hundreds of visitors to Port Angeles and invite them to come back again and again. We will be making happy memories and great first impressions this weekend and we would like to invite you to come down and see and experience the fun and warm community celebration. We are not a strip mall — downtown Port Angeles is made up of hard working entrepreneurs and goodwill ambassadors who warmly welcome shoppers and diners every day. Don't be shy — ask questions, ask for recommendations, ask about all the things to see and do around here, not just in town but the surrounding area - we are proud of our community and glad for special occasions like this to share what is special about where we live and call home. The fun and good food, great drinks, fantastic arts and crafts selection and the stellar entertainment you are going to enjoy are the results of hours and hours of hard work and months of careful planning by a small group of dedicated individuals. During Arts & Draughts we are doing a big fundraising push to purchase the "Birds of a Feather Sculpture" which is on display in the beer garden. Created by Washington sculptor Shawn Johnson, this kinetic sculpture of galvanized steel and brass combines elements of a cormorant, blue heron, and a whale fluke to symbolize the rich diversity of ocean life here in the Pacific Northwest. Even if you are just visiting, you can help create a lasting legacy by donating a few dollars in the collection box by the sculpture or at the Port Angles Downtown Association booth. On Saturday, The Metta room (next door to Turnip the Beet) will have Ethan J Perry and the Remedy Band (bluegrass/ folk) and Bootleg Sunshine, playing another set after their appearance on the Arts & Draughts Main Stage. Arts & Draughts Art Gallery — located in the Society Monk shop on Laurel street, right next to the festival food court, a free gallery featuring local artists working in a variety of mediums. Live basket weaving demos throughout the weekend.
