Deputy Mayor Kidd called the special meeting of the Port Angeles City Council to order at 5:02 p,rri,
ROLL CALL:
Members Present: Deputy Mayor Kidd,Council members Case and Whetharn.
Counciltnember Bruch joined the meeting via conference call.
Councilmember Merideth joined the meeting at 5:32 p.m.
Members Absent: Mayor Downie and Council member Collins.
Staff Present: City Manager McKeen.Attorney Bloor.,Clerk,Veneklasen, N. West,C. Delikat and C. Fulton.
WORKSESSION:
City Manager Dan McKeen conducted a PowerPoint presentation that reviewed the workings of Counci I-appointed
advisory boards,committees and commissions. Manager McKeen spoke about the interview and recruitment process
for members,options for public continent during board meetings,and the purpose and value of sonle of tile boards.
Regarding advisory boards, committees,and commissions,Council agreed by consensus to:
• Direct staff to create a recruitment and interview policy
• Direct staff to post agendas online in a consistent manner prior to board meetings
• Allow for a public comment opportunity at each meeting
• Whenever practical,hold all meetings in Council Chambers
• Eliminate the Real Estate Committee
• Change to quarterly meetings for the Port Angeles Forward Committee
• Leave the Utility Advisory Committee(UAC)as it is,but have joint UAC-Council meetings when the City
goes through a full Cost of Services Analyses(COSA)
AD30URNINIENT: Deputy Mayor Kidd adjourned the meeting at 6:17 p.m.
