Chair Kidd indicated that his services have been valuable and that her hope is that he continue participation in the group. Waterfront Transportation Improvement Project (WTIP) Update Nathan West reported that comments on the one hundred percent design drawings have been received by the City, and are currently under department review. Several of the comments were discussed, including wind screens, trail width, accessibility to the proposed drift sills, and the design of the timeline trail markers. The group consensus regarding trail width is to have a 12' wide trail. Mr. Zenovic discussed the reasons that the trail was designed at 10' wide and indicated that a change would cost as much as $25,000. Design of the timeline elements was discussed at length and no decision was reached. Final design will be delayed until consensus on design and wording is achieved. The results will be presented to the group at the February meeting. Mr. West discussed issues regarding sponsorship and recognition of sponsors. The Rotary Club has made a decision to provide sponsorship which should help to stimulate additional financial support. There is strong support for a sponsorship program to help pay for portions of the project, help to keep the citizens involved and to take ownership of the project.
