1. The City of Port Angeles Department
of Community and Economic Development
(DCED) has reviewed the construction
plans and determined that the permitted
ground disturbing project is located in
an area of fill and previous
disturbance. Since the project is
unlikely to encounter archaeological
resources given its separation from
soils designated with medium or high
archaeological probability; the work may
proceed without an on-site
archaeological monitor or additional
archaeological investigation. The Lower
Elwha Klallam Tribe have been notified
of the project by the DCED.
2. If any items suspected to be
historical or archaeological in nature
are observed; the ground disturbance
must stop and the DCED must be contacted
Separate Permits are required for electrical work,SEPA,Shoreline,ESA,utilities,private and public improvements. This permit becomes
null and void if work or construction authorized is not commenced within 180 days,if construction or work is suspended or abandoned
for a period of 180 days after the work has commenced, or if required inspections have not been requested within 180 days from the
last inspection. I hereby certify that I have read and examined this application and know the same to be true and correct. All provisions
of laws and ordinances governing this type of work will be complied with whether specified herein or not. The granting of a permit does
not presume to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of any state or local law regulating construction or the performance of
construction.

and materials in shop. Stage dump trailer w/tractor in parking lot
Day 2 Site work: Remove wood fence and posts with tractor, remove chainlink fence, save chainlink
fence and remove posts and dispose of all unusable items at dump. Rebuild chain link fence with t
posts and wire to provide temporary security fence.
Day 3 Site wor1c move and stage fire pit, remove any loose debris and stage out of way. Remove all
plant debris from work area and grade work area with tractor. Shoot grade to ensure there is only a 2"
difference of grade in work area. If more than 2" establish a step up or step down. Set mason strings
to establish border of fence and location of fence post holes. Establish final section spacing and final
lineal length of fence.
Day 4 Post Holes: Rent and deliver tractor with auger attachment with ability to auger 5' deep at 20"
wide. Auger(15) post holes. Call in concrete footer order. Clean out holes and cover with plywood or
cardboard. If any problem are encountered with excavation to exceed time budgeted, submit change
order and contact engineer for further instructions.
Day 5 Concrete Footers: Pour(15) 15" deep by 20" diameter concrete footers and re-cover. 24hour
curing time for concrete.
Day 6 Install Posts: Set posts and secure with 2x4's and stakes. Install concrete backfill, set plumb
and level. Allow to cure for 24 hours.
Day 7 Concrete: Allow concrete to cure for 24 hours
Day 8 Framing: Cut all 2x6's to fence spacing of 7'6"+/-. Install(4)2x6's per section with A34
Simpson tie and secure with SD#9xl 1/2" screws. Bottom girt must be 4-6" off final grade. Cutoff
fence post exceeding top girt. Not to exceed 8' between bottom and top girt. Not to infringe on 4-6"
needed clearance between final grade and first girt. 2x6's will be installed flush to outside of 6x8s.
Ensure level with 32" on center spacing.
Day 10 Siding: Install Champion Hi Rib 29 Gauge Siding(choice of color) vertically and secure with
#9 gasketed screws per manufacturer. Ensure level and flush.
Day 11 Trim, Top Cap, Caulking: Install metal trim (choice of color)to both ends and corner and
secure with#9 gasketed screws per manufacturer. Trim should be same color as fence or same color
as cap. Install top cap (choice of color). Dimensions: 8 1/4"-9"wide, total length of fence with 2" drip
edge. Cap will be secured with matching screws and all seams and screws will be sealed with clear
sealant. Provide caulking as necessa�y to prevent water intrusion.
Day 12 Withdrawal: Remove any trash and debris from site. Clean site up as needed. Remove all
excess material, tools and supplies from site.

Please see attached application from Platypus Marine for a fence replacement. The predictive model suggests that the
entire site is fill down to 5' or greater. There was also a prior Platypus Transmission project completed by 2 Grade
construction that corresponds to the predictive model findings.
I plan to recommend the following conditions:
1. The City of Port Angeles Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has reviewed
the construction plans and determined that the permitted ground disturbing project is located in an area
of fill and previous disturbance. Since the project is unlikely to encounter archaeological resources given
its separation from soils designated with medium or high archaeological probability; the work may
proceed without an on-site archaeological monitor or additional archaeological investigation. The Lower
Elwha Klallam Tribe have been notified of the project by the DCED.
