support the load of the rooftop if all of the following are met:
Yes No
1. PV system is designed and proposed for a single family or detached accessory structure 13
2. The photovoltaic panels and modules and supporting structure shall be constructed of 0
noncombustible materials or fire-retardant treated wood equivalent to that required for the

mounted no higher than 18"above the surface of the roofing to which they are affixed and do
not exceed the highest point of the roof unless approved by the local jurisdiction.
MOTE: Of site inspection indicates a concern that the roof structure is not adequate to
support the PV module(s),engineering may be required prior to final of the permit.

SUBJECT: Solar Panel Project for Warren—525 W. 1 11h Street, Port Angeles,
Washington
Dear Mr. Lierly:
This office has reviewed the plans and information provided by Power Trip Energy
Company for the solar panel project noted above. This office has also performed a
visual inspection at the residence to verify the existing roof structure. The residence is
of typical wood framed construction with engineered trusses.
Based on my review and attached calculations the existing roof structure has adequate
capacity to support the additional weight of the proposed solar panels without
compromising the structure and thus it is acceptable to this office. The system will be
installed on the existing metal roofing using the SnapNrack Series 100 PV mounting
system,
Please call me if you have any further questions on this matter.
Sincerely,
Tracy Gudgel, P.E.
