CALL TO ORDER — REGULAR MEETING
Vice Chairperson Shargel called the regular meeting of the Port Angeles Parks, Recreation & Beautification
Commission to order at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Members Present: Vice Chairperson Shargel, Commissioners Young, Stratton, Ramsey, Knowles, and Merritt.
Members Absent: Chairperson Pittis.
Staff Present: Director Delikat, D Bellamente, and Secretary Kochanek.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
It was moved by Stratton and seconded by Knowles to:
Approve the minutes of the January 16, 2014 regular meeting.
Motion carried 6-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FINANCE
1. Monthly Fee Revenue Report
Director Delikat reviewed the 2014 Parks & Recreation Monthly Fee Revenue Report, 2013 final Parks &
Recreation Quarterly Report, and the Ediz Hook Boat Launch Summary Report with the Commissioners.
LEGISLATION
1. Interviews for Commission Vacancies
The Commissioners interviewed Paul Forrest, Scott Ramsey, and Rob Merritt for the two vacant Parks,
Recreation & Beautification Commission positions.
It was moved by Knowles and seconded by Stratton to:
Send a memo to the City Council recommending appointment of Paul Forrest and Rob Merritt to fill
the two vacant positions on the Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission for the four year term
of March 1, 2014 through February 28, 2018.
Motion carried 4-0.
Commission discussion followed.

DIRECTOR'S REPORT- (PowerPoint Presentation)
1. Update on Campfire Clubhouse
Director Delikat informed the Commissioners on the status of the Campfire Clubhouse at Webster Park
2. Lincoln Park Vandalism
Director Delikat provided and discussed by slides the damage caused by vandalism at Lincoln Park. He
commented that trucks have ripped deep ruts in the grass areas and parking lots. He informed the
Commissioners that he is looking into the possibility of making a new parking area and placing bollards
preventing trucks from accessing the area.

3. 2014 Cemetery Revenue Plan
Director Delikat provided the Commissioners with a map of Ocean View Cemetery showing the two new burial
sites that are now open for burials.
4. Community Memorial Nominations
Director Delikat informed the Commissioners that he has received an application requesting the placement of a
plaque on the City of Port Angeles Community Memorial wall and will be bringing the information before the
Commission later this year.
5. PAMAC Ordinance Update
Director Delikat stated that he would be bringing the information to an upcoming City Council meeting.
6. City Pier Railing
Director Delikat provided the Commissioners with slides of the decaying City Pier railing and discussed future
plans for repairing the structure. He also complimented his staff for the new payment structure that was placed
at the Ediz Hook boat launch.
7. Blue Star Marker Event
Director Delikat invited the Commissioners to the dedication of the Blue Star Memorial Highway marker April
4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Veteran's Memorial Park.
8. Parks & Recreation Events
Director Delikat updated the Commissioners on the MLK Tournament and President Day Tournament. He
updated them on the upcoming Spring Hoopfest Tournament March 8`h and 9`h, St. Paddy's Day Run March
15`h, Vern Burton Rock, Gem, and Jewelry Show March 22°d and 23`d, Senior Center Haywire Dance April 5`h,
April Fools Tournament April 5`h and 6`h, and Kids Fishing Derby April 12`h. He told the Commissioners to
mark their calendars for the big Michael Knight "Unbreakable" tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson
Concert that will be held at the Vern Burton May 10`h from 6 — 8 p.m. and thanked Wilder Auto for their
sponsorship of the event.
9. Contracts/Agreements
Director Delikat stated to the Commissioners that the ASM Signs contract renewal was complete and updated
the Commissioners on the status of the Farmers Market contract.
10. Future Items
Director Delikat commented that he would be discussing the Trails Coalition Hill Street proposed project at a
future meeting.
