HomeMy WebLinkAboutWolverton Coummunity Garden Memo
Date: May 16, 2013
To: Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission
From: Corey Delikat, Parks & Recreation Director
Subject: Port Angeles Community Garden- Wolverton Park
Summary: The Port Angeles Community Garden Committee is looking to partner with the City of Port Angeles to add a second Community Garden at Wolverton Park, which is located at 825
West 11th Street. In 2011, the Fifth Street Community Garden was built under a conditional use permit with the City and the garden is currently full with a waiting list for plots.
Having a second public garden would allow the Port Angeles Community Garden Committee to expand their program to the west side of town and continue to bring this successful and positive
element to our community.
Recommendation: Approve and allow the Port Angeles Community Garden Committee to place a secondary Community Garden at Wolverton Park, and to work directly with the Parks and Recreation
Director for implementation.
