Backgroundy
Prior to 2006 wave action had eroded the
base of the marine bluff and landfill debris
were being deposited on the beach. A
subsequent project stabilized the bluff and
installed a retaining wall along the beach to
protect the slope from wave erosion.
Construction of the wall was complete in
October 2007. The HPA Permit for the E
project required beach nourishment be
placed as necessary to restore the beach
profile north of the landfill revetment wall
to the shape that was s ecified in the p ..
construction plans for the life of the wall. _-- .;- '• s t_.
During permitting for the Landfill Cell ,-
Stabilization project in 2016 an Army Corps
permit requirement for beach nourishment
to place 2600 yards annually for the life of
wall was issued.
