RE: Driveway at 712 East 2nd Street
Dear Mr. Cooter:
The occupant of your rental property at 712 East 2nd Street is accessing a graveled parking area
on the east side of the' house by driving over the city's concrete curb and a sidewalk. Driving
over the curb and sidewalk as is presently being done, is not permitted. If the occupant continues,
to access the graveled parking area, a driveway is required to be constructed as per city standards
enclosed.

The driveway is to be no closer than 7' 6" from the property line and constructed per enclosed
details. Please note that within the right of way the concrete driveway shall be 6" thick. It will
be your responsibility to insure construction of a driveway approach as shown on the enclosures
or that the occupant discontinue driving over the city's curb and sidewalk.

The Public Works & Utility permit for driveway construction is $145.00. Either you or your
licensed bonded contractor may pick up the permit at the City of Port Angeles. Upon completion
of the curb-gutter form work and prior to the concrete pour, please notify Public Works &
Utilities Department at 417-4897 to schedule an inspection of the forms. I will assign your
project permit 1268. This permit is to be paid for and issued at the building division counter at
City Hall. If you have questions regarding this permit feel free to contact me at 417-4807.
