At your request this office performed a field inspection of the shop constructed at the
address noted above to verify the foundation system for the new structure. Based on my
site inspection and the documentation provided by you, the monolithic footings
supporting the structure is of adequate depth and has proper reinforcing to support the
required vertical loads imposed by the structure.
To provide positive drainage away from the structure to conform to building code
requirements it is recommended that a concrete apron be installed on the south and
west sides of the structure. The apron on the south side shall extend from the building
line to the block retaining wall and shall slope away from the building. The apron on the
west side shall be a minimum of two feet wide and shall slope away from the structure.
The existing lawn area on the west side shall be graded as necessary to direct runoff
from the aprons away from the new structure.
Please note that a complete framing inspection was not performed by this office. This
inspection should be performed by the local building department.
