The request for a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) to allow the placement of a construction trailer
proposed for supervision purposes during the construction of a single-family residential structure
located in the RS-7,Residential Single Family zone is hereby approved with the following conditions:
Conditions:
1. The temporary use is hereby approved for use during the construction of a single family
residence at 1507 West Tenth Street for a period not to exceed six months(June 1,2001)
or until final occupancy is approved,whichever occurs first. The unit must be removed
from the site within one week of issuance of final occupancy if such issuance occurs
prior to June 1, 2001.
2. The placement and occupancy of the temporary trailer shall be in compliance with all
pertinent local and state development regulations including the installation of a 2A1 OBC
fire extinguisher within the unit. The extinguisher must be mounted no higher than 5'
from the floor and be accessible at all times. Inspection and approval of the trailer
placement and set up by the Fire Department and the Building Division is required prior
to occupancy.
3. Address numbers shall be posted on the temporary trailer. The numbers shall be at least
6" in height and plainly visible.
This decision is made based on the following findings and conclusions:
Findings:
1. A request for occupancy of a temporary office structure to be located at 1507 West
Tenth Street was received on November 27, 2000, from the North Peninsula Building
Association. The temporary office unit is desired for on-site supervision and storage
during the construction of a single-family residence in the RS-7, Residential Single
Family zone.
2. Building Permit #12298 was issued for construction of the single family structure at
1507 West Tenth Street on November 8, 2000.
3. Section 17.95.060 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code allows for the Planning Director
to issue permits for the occupancy of temporary buildings used in conjunction with
construction or reconstruction projects for a period not to exceed one year. Such
temporary buildings may be located in any zone provided that sufficient setbacks are
maintained to protect the public health, safety, and welfare.
4. The Fire Department will require that the temporary construction trailer bear the address
number of the site until removal.
5. Placement of the temporary office unit must be inspected and approved by the City's
Building Division and Fire Department to ensure that all relevant local and state
regulations are followed prior to occupancy. The temporary units will be removed from
the site for storage off-site immediately upon completion of the structure or by June 1,
2001,whichever occurs first.
6. The temporary office units do not contain restroom facilities. Sanitation facilities
elsewhere on the site will be used during the remodel activity.
Conclusions:
A. As conditioned,the use complies with Section 17.95.060(Temporary Buildings) of the
Port Angeles Municipal Code.
B. The use as proposed does not endanger the public health, safety,or welfare and is in the
public interest.
