SUBJECT SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE, 1232 East 5 Street, Port Angeles
Upon the request of Galen Hammond acting as agent, for the owners of the residence
at 1232 East 5 Street in Port Angeles, this office has preformed an inspection of the
non permitted remodel at the above mentioned residence
From site inspections and interview with the owner's agent this office has come to the
conclusion that there has been a site built truss constructed in the attic to span
approximately 29' Previously there was a masonry wall used to support a large portion
of the new 29' opening
The existing site built truss was as -built and analyzed for the imposed dead and snow
loads. The analysis found the site built truss to be inadequate for the imposed loads
A box girder was designed to adequately support the required design loads These
plans are attached with this letter
Special inspection was preformed by this office to verify correct procedures were
followed for gluing and nailing of plywood and structural members in the box girder
Final inspections were preformed by this office All structural components have been
installed to the satisfaction of this office including two additional concrete piers in the
crawl space It should be noted that the 6 mil vapor barrier on approximately half of the
crawl area has been removed and should be re- installed in a timely manner
