Port Angeles, Washington March 16, 2023 CALL TO ORDER – REGULAR MEETING: Commissioner Collins called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. ROLL CALL: Members Present: Commissioners Cripe, Collins, Forrest, Hilory & McGuire. Members Absent: Commissioner Hodgson Staff Present: Director Delikat & Administrative Specialist Howell. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Commissioner Forrest moved to approve February 27, 2023 regular and special meeting minutes. Commissioner McGuire seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. LATE ITEMS: None. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. FINANCE & PACKET ITEMS: Director Delikat reviewed the Revenues and Expenditures Report. LEGISLATION: Commissioner Collins nominated Commissioner Hodgson for Chair, running unopposed. Commissioner Hodgson was elected unanimously. Commissioner Forrest nominated Commissioner McGuire for Vice Chair, running unopposed. Commissioner McGuire was elected unanimously. GUEST SPEAKERS: None. DIRECTOR’S REPORT: 1. City Pier Railing Delay: Director Delikat discussed the progress of the City Pier Railing project. The project is divided into 3 zones and is expected to be complete by the end of June. 2. Senior Center Manager Update: The City of Port Angeles received 11 applications for the Senior Center Manager rd position. Six individuals have been selected to be interviewed on Thursday, March 23. 3. Cemetery Software: Administrative Specialist Howell has been working with the City’s IT department to select a new cemetery software system that will have GIS component. 4. Ediz Hook Boat Launch: Director Delikat discussed the issues with Ediz Hook boat launch. The floats had to be removed due to damages brought on by a winter storm. The Parks & Recreation crew is working on fixing the damages. 5. Day of Play: Day of Play is being brought back after a 4-year hiatus. This event is meant to celebrate the partnerships between public and private entities for the children of the community. Director Delikat encouraged the commission to get involved. 6. Big Spruce Up: The annual Big Spruce Up put on by the Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Port th Angeleswill be held Saturday, May 6from 9am to 12pm. Lunch and music will be provided.Director Delikat also encouraged the Commission to attend. 7. State of the City: City Manager Nathan West presented at the Chamber of Commerce luncheon to discuss accomplishments and priorities for the upcoming year. Director Delikat again encouraged the Commission to watch in on the City’s website. th ADJOURNMENT: Chairperson Collins adjourned the meeting at 6:28 p.m. The next meeting will be held on April 20, 2023.
