CALL TO ORDER
Committee Chair French called the meeting to order at 3:10 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Voting Members Present: Mike French,Christine Loewe,Donya Alward,Sydney Rubin and Marsha Massey.
Non-Voting Members: Peter Stolinsky.
Members Absent: Lisa Hilt.
Staff Present: Clerk Kari Martinez-Bailey,Allyson Brekke,Ben Braudrick,and Melody Schneider
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Massey and seconded by Rubin to:
Approve the September 30,2021 minutes.
The Chair asked if there was unanimous consent,hearing no opposition,the motion carried 5-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment was received.
ACTION ITEM
1. Review and Award Funding to Non-Event Lodging Tax Fund Application Proposals
Associate Planner Ben Braudrick presented the scoring totals that had previously been submitted by the committee. The
committee reviewed 2022 Non-Event lodging tax application proposals and Lodging Tax Advisory Committee scoring.
Committee discussion followed.
Steven Raider-Ginsburg,of the Field Arts and Events request,spoke about events and activities and provided background
related to his request.
Parks&Recreation Project Coordinator Tim Tucker of the Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department spoke about the
length of season relative to the Volunteer Turf project request.
Parks&Recreation Director Corey Delikat spoke about the youth baseball request.
The committee discussed destination marking.
It was moved by French and seconded by Stolinsky to:
Recommend City Council sign a 5-year contract with the Chamber of Commerce for the identified yearly expenses in the
amount of$117,324.
The Chair asked if there was unanimous consent,hearing no opposition,the motion carried 4-0,with Alward
abstaining from the vote.
Clerk's note: $117,324 will appear as a fixed cost beginning in 2022 until 2027.
It was moved by French and seconded by Massey to:
Review and award the funds to non-events,according to the work sheet presented to the Committee during the meeting and
outlined below.
The Chair asked if there was unanimous consent,hearing no opposition,the motion carried 3-0,with Massey and
Alward abstaining from the vote.

STAFF UPDATE
Director Brekke spoke about form-based code updates taking place and provided background on community events. She
provided information on staffing challenges due to local housing shortage.
The next meeting is set for November 18,2021.
COMMITTEE MEMBER UPDATES
Chair French spoke about the upcoming first sailing of the Black Ball since the 2020 shutdown.
Committee member Alward shared an update on improvements at the Red Lion Hotel.
Committee member Massey provided updates on contest entries relative to a Olympic Peninsula Tourism Commission
marketing campaign.

Chair French adjourned the meeting at time 5:13 p.m.
