We have reviewed the shear wall calculations we did for the Krogue addition as
requested
The interior shear wall located a wall B' calls for Simpson PHD2 -SDS3 hold
downs You asked if we could find a strap connection to use in place of the
PHD2 -SDS3 We found Simpson HST2 strap that would handle the required up
lift of 2266 pounds This strap would install into the face of the existing concrete
foundation with (3) 5/8" diameter bolts with minimum of 4 embedment into the
concrete and (3) 5/8' diameter bolts into the wall studs above

bolts placement over the existing concrete bomb shelter

The addition called for a shear wall to be located on the east end of the structure
which is over the existing bomb shelter We needed to have the anchor blots
extend three inches into the top of the concrete roof of the shelter We observed
the bolts being epoxy into place as per manufacture s requirements
