Mark Madsen asked me to research your issue concerning the cost for moving
the water meter.
On new service installations the water meter is placed at a mutually
agreed convenient location for the City and property owner. This is
included in the initial installation cost: If the customer decides to have
the meter relocated for convenience then a minimal cost is imposed based
upon a time and material basis.
In your particular case the water meter was installed based upon the
customer who initially requested water service for the property. The cost
for moving the meter at the request of Dennis from Anderson Homes was
$337:47.
I regret that incorrect information may have been passed initially to you.

Sorry I didn't get you called back. City can and will move a water meter at
the request of a property owner.
As it was relayed to me. An individual in public works probably did say it
couldn't be moved. However, the meter can be moved to accomdate your
desired driveway location.
There may be a modest charge (a couple hundred dollars or so) associated
with utility crew moving the meter.
Please have your contractor contract Trenia Funston at 471-4807 and she will
process the request on an expedited basis.
Again I apologize for both the inconvienence and for our apparent poor
service.
