Nobody ever signed for or picked up the permit for the re -roof permit at 2311
Samara Dr William applied for it on 09 -20 -10 and Home Depot was listed as
the contractor
On 01 -20 -1 1 I phoned the owner Dennis He said the work was completed and
that Home Depot took care of everything I asked Dennis to come sign for and
pick up the permit and schedule an inspection He said he would but hasn t
I just want you be aware of that situation
I also thought you d like to know about the new permit requested below
received the fax cover sheet but no permit information

Hi again Linda
Has the Home Depot installer come in for the reroof permit for 2311 Samara?
I have contacted the install coordinator a number of times and have now
contacted the branch manager to confirm they have picked up the permit.
Please let me know so I can follow up (again!) Are you able to let me
know the permit number so I can close out my October reports?

Hi Linda,
I apologize for the negative experience we caused you recently and
will
figure out how to avoid this going forward According to our
records
the
installer was to pick up the permit (didn't happen) and then the
homeowner
confirmed *he* had the permit on site which apparently was not
true.
All
the way around very frustrating for everyone We will try our
best
not to
cause you any more grief!
We are be mailing in a residential re -roof application today I
will
be
requesting that the contractor come in to sign and pick up the
permit

out well I'm telling you this so that the bad experience will

repeated
It was regarding permit #10 -858 for Home Depot At Home Services
to
re -side and re -sheet Mark Mayberry's home at 2108 Driftwood
Place

permit application was dated 08 -10 -10 and you were the

I had contact with you William and Jennifer from Northwest
Permit
Inc regarding that permit. We received the application and
processed
the fee with no problems
The problems started when William made it clear that nobody from
your
company would pick up the permit. He asked me to e-mail him a
copy
of
the permit, which I did with the understanding that someone
would
come
sign and pick up the original permit and sign our file copy of
the
permit too
Later Jennifer called and told me that the contractor would sign
and
pick up the permit before starting the work. She scheduled the
final
inspection for a future date
When the inspection date arrived, I noticed that the permit had
never
been signed for and picked up That morning I called left

message on the day that the inspection was supposed to happen
that
afternoon I told her that nobody had signed and picked up the
permit
yet, so I needed to cancel the inspection until someone signed
for

picked up the permit. I expected her to contact the homeowner
and
contractor and get everything rectified
What happened was that later that afternoon the homeowner called
and
asked why the inspector hadn't come to inspect. The homeowner
stated
that he had taken off a day of work to be there for the
inspection

told him the situation He said he had a copy of the permit at
his
house He came to our office and signed and picked up the
permit.
He
was somewhat upset about the whole situation We rescheduled a
time
for
the inspection
The owner told the Building Inspector that they re- sheeted and
re -sided
his home The Inspector wanted to inspect the sheeting prior to
it
being covered up by siding The contractor never called for the
sheeting inspection The Building Inspector was not happy about
that.
It is hard to inspect something that is covered up
So overall it was not a smooth operation I will not be
e- mailing
a
copy of any permit to your company again We require an
authorized
person to come sign for and pick up future permits and to know
when
to
call for inspections prior to covering items that should be
inspected
When in doubt of what needs inspecting please contact our
Building
Inspector Jim Lierly at 360- 808 -0534 and ask him about the
specific
project.
So now you know what went on at our end of that permit. We
won't
