We have checked this plan and find that it conforms to the requirements of the code.
Additional Comments:
All systems, including underground mains, shall be installed by a state licensed and certified
company. Systems shall be installed per the applicable NFP A Standard.
All electrical components shall be compatible with the fire alarm system.
All underground piping must be inspected and hydrostatically tested by the Port Angeles Fire
Department PRIOR to being covered. A witnessed flush of the underground piping is required.
- -, ~ - A design sprinkl~r flow test and alarm test are required for all 13 D systems., .
Before final acceptance of the system, an inspection will be conducted to ensure that the
installation complies with the applicable NFPA Standard. This 13D system will require a
measured flow test.

This letter is in response to your question about spalling a few of the foundation straps
for the above referenced plan.
According to the layouts you sent, the straps at the front of the garage and next to the
entry door experienced spalling up to 3W' below the embedment line, According to
Simpson Strong-Tie's product catalog, spalling between 111 and 4" below the
embedment line results in the STHD straps having 90% capacity. We have reviewed
the calculations for this plan, and find that the straps still have sufficient capacity to
resist the design loads.
