TO:
CITY MANAGER, MAYOR HALLETT AND
L
SUBJECT:
JACK PITTIS, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE AGREEME
FROM:
ISSUE: Should the City Council enter into an Intergovernmental
cooperative Agreement with Clallam county for contracting, bidding,
or purchase of goods and services?
BACKGROUND: Over the last few years we have discussed the concept
of cooperative interagency purchasing with other governmental units
in our area. To this end the Council has adopted objectives lito
promote interagencyjintraagency cooperation on purchases" and "to
explore additional joint activities with the County, School
District, Port of Port Angeles, and PUD."
The attached agreement which I have received from County Public
Works Director Unger would allow the City and the County to utilize
each others purchasing and contracting bids, such as equipment and
supplies, but does not restrict either party from doing so
separately.
RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the City Council authorize the
Mayor to execute the Intergovernmental cooperative Agreement with
Clallam County.
