am requesting a six month extension for the remodel permit.
This is a small project that is near completion, but has had delays due to medical issues.
The permit was taken out by a small general contractor, Jim's Handyman Service. Jim works
alone. This spring he put off my job to work on other jobs. Then he developed back problems
and was unable to continue working except for light duty. I began to find another contractor to
finish the job, but Jim insisted that he would be able to finish. However, he has not been able
to complete the job: His.back problem may be discitis which requires about 90 days of
treatment.
The job is almost ready for an inspection, and probably would take only a few days of work to
be ready.
It has been difficult for me to attend to this situation because my mother, who lives in the
Seattle area, has dementia. I try to spend considerable time with her every day, which makes it
difficult for me to spend the time I need in Port Angeles to oversee this project.
I am hoping you will consider a six month extension for Permit 11 -432.
