HomeMy WebLinkAbout0662ORDINANCE NO.Yl_a, AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming the Assessments and Assessment Roll of Local Improvement No, 83, created under Ordinance No, 640, approved the 14th day of July, 1920, "ordering and Providing for the construction of a Lateral Sewer beginning with Lots One (1) and Eighteen (18), Block 57; Thence Westerly through the Alley between Second and Third Streets through Blocks 57 and 56,.from Vine Street to Chase Street; thence diagonally through Lot One (1), Block 55, to Second Street; thence diagon- ally across Second Street to Lot 14, Block 30; thence diagonally across Lots 14, 13, 12, 8 and 9 in Block 30, connecting with the Eight Foot Concrete Pipe near the Corner of Lincoln and First Streets and beginning opposite Lot 10, Block 29 in Second Street; thence Easterly along Second Street to Peabody Street, and from Lot 11, Block 28, Westerly to Peabody Street; thence following Peabody Street to the Alley between Second and Third Streets; All in accordance with Resolution No. 83;" ordering the levy and coll- ection of such assessments; and creating and establishing a speciil fund for said district, THE CITY COMMISSION of the City of Port Angeles Do Ordain as follows; Section 1. That the assessments and assessment roll of Local Improvement District No. 83, created under Ordinance No. 640, approved July 14th, 1920, ordering and providing for the construction of a lateral sewer beginning with Lots one (1) and Eighteen - "(i8) :B1o6R -57;' thence Weeterly through the Alley between Second and Third Streets through Blocks 57 and 56, from Vine Street to Chase Street; thence diagonally through Lot 1, Block 55 to Second Street; thence diagonally across Second Street to Lot 14, Block 30; thence diagonally across Lots 14, 13, 12, 8 and 9 in Block 30, connecting with the eight foot concrete pipe near the corner of Lincoln and First. Streets and :beginning opposite Lot 10, Block 29 in Second Street; thence easterly along Second Street to Peabody Street and from Lot 11, Block 28, Westerly to Peabody Street; thence following Peabody Street to the alley between Second and ThirdvStreets, all in accordance with Resolution Bo, =83; sand- -plans-and specifications prepared by the City Engineer, adopted by the then City Council and filed with the City Clerk, as said assessment roll now stands and which was regularly heard and fully considered by the then City Council sittin as a Board�,of g g �OCC�, qu li ati thereon on the d/ lay y 3 o� rG,��}' 192V,„ according to regular notice thereof and acco ing to law and the ordinances of said City, and in accordance with the findings and order of said Board of Equalization at aaid meet ing in said City, be and the same are hereby and in all respects approved and confirmed in all things, Section 2, That each lot, tract or parcel of land shown upon said assessment roll is hereby declared -to bey especially benefitted by said improvement in at least the amount chared against the same, and that the assessment appearing against the same is in proportion to the several assessments appearing on said assessment roll, and there is hereby levied and assessed against each said lot, tract or parcel of land appearing on said roll, the amount actually charged and assessed against the same, Section 3, That there is hereby created and established for said Local Improvement District 1o, 83 a special fund to be known and designated as Local Improvement Fund No 83, for the uses and purposes provided by law and ordinances of the city, Section 4, Said assessments or any of them may be paid without interest at any time within thirty (30) days from the date of the first publication of the City Treasurer's notice to pay the same as required by law to be given, and all assessments not paid within said thirty (30) day period shall thereafter be paid in ten equal annual installments with interest thereon at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum, Section 5, That immediately upon the taking effect of this ordinance said assessment roll shall be turned over to the City Treasurer for the collection of said first annual installment, who will thereupon proceed to collect the same according—to law; " Section 6, This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect wj}en it shall have been passed by the City Commission, signed by the Mayor, attested by the City Clerk, approved by the City Attorney, and from and after five (5) nays from its publication once in the official newspaper of the City of Port Angeles, and the Clerk is hereby directed to cause the same to be so published, Passed by the City Commission of Port Angeles, this //9 day of January, 1921, Approved and signed by the Mayor this January, 1921, day of Approved City Attorney Date of lication, 2 Mayor. 1921,
