ORDINANCE NO. 7 / 7
AN ORDINANCE ordering and providing for the construction of later-
4,1 sewers to run through and along that portion of the alleys between 8th
and 9th streets, 9th and 10th streets, 10th and llth streets, llth and
12th streets, 12th and 13th streets, and 13th streetF and Broadway, and
along and through said Broadway, and all said streets and alleys, bound-
11 ed by Lincoln Street on the West, the brink of Peabody Gulch on the East,
8th street on the North, and Broadway on the South, and by and through
said portions of said streets if necessary to connect with the Lincoln
Street trunk sewer, and an extension of said Lincoln Street trunk sewer
from the alley between 8th and 9th streets up Lincoln Street to the alley
between llth and 12th streets: The sewer -pipe for said sewers to be so
to
constructed/, ` be first class vitrified clay, cement, brick, or other
suitable material: Providing for the doing of all other work in connection
therewith which may be necessary: Creating local improvement district No.
94; and providing for the payment of the cost and expense thereof by
special assessments upon-the property within the said district according
to law and by the mode of "payment by bonds ", all in accordance with
improvement resolution No. 94 of the City of Port Angeles, and in accord-
ance with maps, plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer
and approved and adopted by the City Commission.
THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES 10 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
First: That there is hereby ordered the construction of lateral sewvUs
to run through and along that portion of the alleys between 8th and 9th

streets, 9th and 10th streets, 10th and llth streets, llth and 12th
and
`streets, 12th and 13th streets, /13th street and Braodway, and along and
through said Braodway, and all said streets and alleys, bounded by Lin-
coln Street on the West, the brink of Peabody gulch on the East, 8th
street on the #orth, and Broadway on the §outh, and by and through said
portions of said streets if necessary to connect with the Lincoln Street
trunk sewer, and an extension of said'Lincoln street trunk sewer from the
alley between 8th and 9th streets 0#100# # ## # #* up Lincoln street
to the ;alley between 11th and 12th streets; together with..all other work

in connection therewith which may be necessary. The sewer pipe for said
sewers shall be first class vitrified clay, cement, brick or other suit-
40 ble material. All of said improvement to be done in accordance with maps,
lane and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and approved and
adopted by the City Commission, and in accordance with improvement reso-
lution No. 94 of the City of Port Angeles.
Second: That the cost and expense of said improvement, including all
necessary and incidental expenses, shall be borne by and assessed against
the property situated and included within the boundaries of the district
hereinafter created and described, in accordance with law and the ordi-
nances of the City of Port Angeles; and said city shall not be liable in
any manner for any part of the cost or expense of said improvement.
Third: That there is hereby created a local improvement district to
be called "Local Improvement District No. 94", which said district is
described as follows, to -wit; All the property between the described teo-
mini of said improvement excepting only Block numbered 290 of the Town-
- aite of Port Angeles. ____ Fourth: Bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven per centum (7%)
per annum, payable on or before twelve (12) years from the date of their
issue, shall be issued in payment of the cost and expense of said improve-
ment, which bonds may be redeemed by the collection of special assess-
ments to be levied and assessed against the property within said district„
payable in ten annual installments, under the mode of "payment by bonds"
as provided by law. These bonds may be delivered to the_contractor in re-
demption of warrants on the special fund of the local improvement district
&rein created, on estimates of the City Engineer, or the said city, at
its election, may sell said bonds and make such redemption in cash or cash
warrants. -
Fifth: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its
lawful
passage and approval, and from and after five (5) days after its /publica-
tion.
