HomeMy WebLinkAbout0827ORDINANCE NO. g z 1 AN ORDINANCE relating to the use of the public streets of the City of Port Angeles; providing for the stoppage of traffic be- orecentering certAin streets and intersections; prohibiting parking on certain'atreete; providing penalty for violation thereof; repeal- ing all other ordinances in conflict therewith; and declaring an emer- gency. THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section I. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or propel any automobile, truck or other vehicle onto or across: .(a) First Street, at any point between Oak Street and En- nis Street; and including Oak Street and Ennis Street. (b) Eighth Street, at any point between "B" Street and .,„,.�r,,,. reet, .and including "B" Street and Laurel Street. (c) Lincoln Street, at any point between Second Street and Seventh Street, and including Second Street and Seventh Street. (d) Laurel Street at the intersection of Front Street. (e) Eighth Street, at the intersection of Lincoln Street, when approaching said intersection from the south. (f) Lincoln Street, at the intersection of Eighth Street, when approaching said intersection from the east. (g) Eighth Street, at the intersection of "C" Street, when approaching said intersection from the North. ,,,_..(h) "0" Street at the intersection of Eighth Street, when approaching said intersection from the west. (i) Lincoln, Laurel athak Streets at the intersection of the alley between First Street and Front Street. without first bringing said automobile, truck or other vehicle to a full stop. ._______La=limar,"414 Section II. All traffic moving at right angles to the traf- fic at the stop points designated in Section I hereof, shall have the right of way; and all automobiles, trucks or other vehicles in motion shall..•have the right of way over cars backing from the curbs. Section III. It shall be unlawful for any person to park or stand any automobile, truck or other vehicle on Laurel Street in the City of Port Angeles, between Railroad Avenue and Front Street, at any time; provided, that busses of Wolverton Auto Bus Company may stand in front of the bus depot of said Company parallel with the curb when taking on or discharging passengers, freight or express. Section IV. Any person who shall violate any of the provi- :'sionsVof this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine in any sum not ex- ceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00), or by imprisonment in the City jail for a term not to exceed thirty days or by both such fine and im- t- Section V. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section VI. This ordinance is declared to be urgent and nec- essary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon and from and after its passage, approval and lawful publication.
