HomeMy WebLinkAbout0894• • ORDINANCE NO. 0 7 AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming the assessments and as- sessment roll in and for Local Improvement District No. 129, created un- der Ordinance Na: 881, approved September 25, 1929, ordering and provid- ing for the following described improvements along the following describ- ed portions of streets and alleys in the City of Port Angeles, to wit: The improvement of the alley between Third and Fourth Streets running , through Block seventy -two (72) of the Townsite of Port Angeles by the construction therein of a six (6) inch sewer emptying into the Pine Street trunk sewer at Valley Street, in said City of Port Angeles, to- gether with.the manholes, flush tanks, catch basins, wyes and other equip- ment necessary and suitable to complete the said improvement; all in ac- cordance with improvement resolution No. 129 of the City of Port Angeles, and in accordance with maps, plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and approved and adopted by the City Commission; ordering the levy and eollection. of such assessment, creating and establishing a special fund for said district, and ordering that said assessments be paid into said special fund. THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the assessments and assessment roll for local improvement District No. 129, created by Ordinance No. 881, approved Sep- tember 25, 1929, which said ordinance ordered and provided for the foi- elowing described. improvements along the following described portions of streets and alleys in the City of Port Angeles, to wit: The improvement of the alley between Third and Fourth Streets running through Block sev- enty -two (72) of the Townsite of'Port Angeles by the construction there- in of a six (6) inch sewer emptying into the Pine Street trunk sewer at Valley Street, in said City of Port Angeles, together with the manholes, flush tanks,, catch basins, wyes and other equipment necessary and suit- able to complete the said improvement; all in accordance with improve- ment resolution No. 129 of the City of Port Angeles, and in accordance with maps, plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and approved and adopted by the City Commission; and which said ordinance • created a local improvement district and provided for payment of said improvement by special assessment on the property in said district, pay- able by the mode of "payment by bonds "; as said assessment roll now stands as revised, changed, raised, lowered and modified b the City Commission sitting as g Board of Equalization thereon the day of December, 1929, according to regular notice thereof and the ordinances of said city, and in accordance with the findings and order of said Board then and there made, be 'and the same are hereby in all respects approved and confirmed in all things. Section II. That each lot, tract and parcel of land shown up - on said assessment roll, is hereby declared specially benefitted by said improvement in at least the. amount charged against the same, and that the assessment appearing against the same is in proportion to the several as- 0 sessments,appearing upon said roll, and there is hereby levied and assess- ed against each said lot, tract or parcel of land appearing on said roll the amount actually charged and assessed therein upon and against the same. • Section III. That there is hereby created and established for said Local Improvement District No. 129, a special fund to be known and designated as Local Improvement District No. 129, for the uses and pur- poses provided in such case by law and ordinances of said city. Section IV. That said assessments or any of them, may be paid without interest at any time within thirty days from the date.of the first publication of the City Treasurer's notice to pay the same as required by law to be given; and all assessments not paid within said period of thir- ty days shall thereafter be paid in titaa equal annual installrehits with interest thereon at the rate of seven per cent per annum. Section V. That immediately upon the taking effect of this or- dinance, said assessment roll shall be turned over and delivered to the City Treasurer, for the collection thereof, who, shall thereupon proceed to collect the same according to law. Section VI. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect when it shall have been passed by the City Commission, approved by the Mayor, attested by the City Clerk, approved by the City Attorneys, and from and after five days after its publication in the official newspaper pf said city; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause the same to be so published. .
