AN ORDINANCE declaring the existence of an emergency by reason
of the fact that proper regulation of traffic and the interests of pub-
lic safety require the installation of an automatic electric stop signal
at the intersection of First and Lincoln Streets in the City of Port An-

geles, Washington, and by further reason of the fact that it is P?e.ase.ae y

Angeles to procure a motorcycle for Weft necessary police patrol; stating
the facts constituting such emergency; stating the estimated amount of
money necessary to meet such emergency and authorizing the expenditure
of money therefor, and the issuance of emergency warrants against the
Current Expense Fund of the City of Port Angeles, and declaring an emer-
gency.
FOLLOWS:
THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DO ORDAIN AS
Section I. That the following facts constituting an emergency
be and they are hereby stated, to wit: That in order to effectually pre-
serve the °public safety and make the necessary regulation of traffic con-
ditions at the intersection of First and Lincoln Streets in the City of
Port Angeles, Washington, it is requisite and necessary that an automatic
electric stop signal be installed; that the estimated cost of such auto-
matic stop equipment is the sum of $417.50.
Section II. That in order to efficiently provide for the requi-
site and necessary policing of the City of Port Angeles, it is necessary
to purchase a motorcycle for the carrying out of proper police patrol
work; that the est.thated cost of such motorcycle is the sum of 582.50.
Section III. That an emergency exists bar reason and because
of the facts above stated in Sections I and II hereof, and that said
emergency be and is hereby declared to exist.
Section IV. That the estimated amount of money necessary to
procure the above described equipment and to meet the said emergency as

above stated, is the sum of 1,000.00,,properly chargeable to and pay-
able out of the current expense fund of the City of Port Angeles.
Section V. That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Port
Angeles be and they are hereby authorized and directed to sign, execute
issue and deliver emergency warrants upon and payable out br the Current
Expense Fund for expenditures properly to be made out of said fund not
exceeding the said amount of one thousand dollars 0.1,000.00), to be us-
ed in meeting .the emergency above stated.
Section VI. That an emergency exists by reason of the facts
above set forth which makes urgent and necessary the passage and adoption
and the immediate going into effect of this ordinance, for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the City and the
inhabitants thereof and such emergency and urgency is hereby declared to
exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and af-
ter and immediately upon its passage and lawful publication.

Passed third reading and finally passed and adopted by the City Commis-
sion, May Ard , 1930.
