HomeMy WebLinkAbout0966,. - ORDINANCE NO. 7` ` AN ORDINANCE Enlarging the duties of certain employes of the City of Port Angeles; discontinuing certain positions; providing for certain salaries and for an emergency. THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: - Section 1. The Light Superintendent shall also take charge of and supervise the municipal water department as Superintendent of Public Utilities without change in salary. Section 2. The Sexton of the cemetery shall heeeafter assume and discharge the duties of Superintendent of Parks without change in salary, provided, however, that 160.00 per month of his salary shall be paid from the Park Fund and the balance from the Cemetery Fund . iSection The Light and Water Collectors shall also perform the diitis of Deputy City Treasurer with a salary of $150.00 per month each; the Light and Water Bookkeeper shall also perform the duties of Deputy City Clerk without change in salary; the salary of the Water Works Foreman shall be $200.00 per month; the salary of the City Hall Janitor shall be 145.00 per month; all salaries payable monthly. Section 4. The salary of the Librarian of the City Public Library shall be A155.00 per month; the salary of the First Assitt- ant Librarian shall be $75.00 per month; the salary of the Second Assistant Librarian shall be$50.00 per month; the salary of the Janitor of the Library shall be $p45.00 per month; all salaries shall be payable monthly. Section 5. The positions of Superintendent of rater rorks and of Water Meter Reader are discontinued. Section 6. The provisions of this ordinance shall be effec- tive on, after and as of January 1, 1932, r Section 7. This drdinance is declared to be urgent and necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants end people of said City of Port Angeles, and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon and from and after its passage, approval and lawful publica- tion. Passed first reading by the City Commission January 6, 1932.
