HomeMy WebLinkAbout1035• 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 • 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 • 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 • 30 31 ORDINANCE NO. 1035 AN ORDINANCE supplementing Ordinance No. 900 of the City of Port Angeles by granting to Crown Zellerbach Corporation, its successors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain and operate electric power lines by means of poles and wires to be erected in certain streets, alleys and public places in the City of Port Angeles, for the purpose of furnishing electric current to certain corporations. WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles, by its Ordinance No. 9O0 heretofore granted to the Northwestern Power & Light Company, its successors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain and operate certain electric power lines in the City of Port Angeles, and Crown Zellerbach Corporation, a corporation, has succeeded to all right, title and interest of said Northwestern Power & Light Company in, to and under said Ordinance No. 900, and WHEREAS, the County Commissioners of Clallam County have requested the re- location of a portion of the electric power lines now being maintained and operated under the authority of said Ordinance No. 900 in order to facilitate the development of an airport adjacent to the present location of said lines, and the City of Port Angeles desires to grant to said Crown Zellerbach Corpora- tion the right and franchise to re- locate said portion of its electric power lines as hereinafter provided, NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COWISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That there be and hereby is granted unto Crown Zellerbach Corporation, a corporation, hereinafter called the "Company ", its successors and assigns, the right, privilege, license, authority and franchise to erect, maintain and use poles or other suitable devices for the support of wires in, over, along and across the following described streets, alleys and public places in the City of Port Angeles, to -wit: Beginning at a point 750 feet easterly of the Southwest corner of Lincoln Park, to -wit, the intersection of Boulevard and M Street, on the southerly margin of said Lincoln Park, extending northerly 1770 feet on a line parallel to M Street and which inter- sects at the northerly margin of Lincoln Park and the Cemetery Road and thence turning at an angel of 90 degrees, westerly to M Street; for the remainder of the period and under and pursuant to all of the terms and conditions of said Ordinance No. 900, which said terms and provisions are hereby • • • 1 2 in all respects ratified and confirmed. Section 2. That the Company shall, within fifteen days from and after 3 the passage and approval of this ordinance, file its acceptance hereof in writing 4 5 with the Clerk of the City. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its 6 passage and approval, and from and after thirty days after its lawful publication. 7 8 9 10 12 Passed first reading by the City Commission, Sanuary 27, 1937.
