HomeMy WebLinkAbout1074• 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1074 AN ORDINANCE Confirming the estimate of expenditures for the City of Port 2 Angeles for the year 1941, and fixing tax levies for said year 1941 as heretofore 3 made and levied by the City Commission meeting and sitting for that purpose on • 1 1 4 the 7th day of October, 1940, and declaring an emergency. 5 THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANG RC DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 6 Section 1. That the estimate of expenditures for the levy of taxes made by 7 the City Commission as a body for that purpose on the 7th day of October, 1940, 8 be and the same is hereby confirmed, and there is hereby fixed and levied for the • 9 City and its districts for the year 1941 upon all property, both real and personal, 10 subject to taxation for the several funds, shown herein, and upon each and every 11 dollar of the assessed valuation thereof, as shown by the records of assessments 12 in the office of the County Assessor in and for Clallam County, Washington, to -wit: 13 FUND MILLS AMODNT 14 Current Expense 2.55 $12,140.00 15 City Street 7.85 37,372.00 16 I Library 1.55 7,430.00 17 r Park 1.50 7,141.00 18 8th Street Bridge Bonds 1.30 6,189.00 19 Firemen's Relief and Pension .25 1,190.00 • 20 I L.I.D. Guaranty 3.00 14,282.00 21 Total 18.00 $85,744.00 22 1 Section 2. That all said taxes are necessary levies and needed to raise 23 sufficient revenue to maintain said City, its districts and several departments 24 for the year 1941, commencing January 1, 1941, and ending December 31, 1941, and i25 ; said taxes are hereby levied proportionately in said city and each said district 26 respectively in accordance with their joint and several needs and liabilities as 27 !shown upon the assessment roll of said Clallam County, as finally fixed and 28 tequalized by the Board of Equalization of said County and State.: and extended 29 1upon the assessment rolls of said County, showing property within said City subject, • 30 to taxation and municipal purposes as therein certified by the County Assessor of 31 said County according to law. • • • 1 ' Section 3. There is urgent necessity and emergency for the passage and 2 adoption and taking effect of this ordinance for the immediate preservation of 3 the public peace, health and safety, which urgency and emergency is now hereby 4 1 stated and declared. Now, therefore, this ordinance shall take effect and be in 5 1 full force and effect from and after and immediately upon its passage, approval 6 1 and lawful publication. 7 8 9 10 Passed first reading by the City Commission October 16, 1940. Passed second reading by the City Commission October 16, 1940. Passed third reading and adopted by the City Commission October 23, 1940.
