ORDINANCE NO. 1086
1 AN ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the public health and
2 • safety; requiring expenditures unforeseen; providing for the issuance of emergency
3 warrants; and declaring an emergency making the ordinance immediately effective.

THE CITY COITS.SION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
5 Section 1. That because of unforeseen and unexpected additional cost for
6 salaries caused by the necessary passage of an ordinance requiring the inspection
7 of meats and meat products intended for human consumption which was not and could
8 not have been anticipated at the time of preparing the budget for the health de-
• 9 partment in the Current Expense Fund, the amount provided for in the Current E5c-

pense Fund is not sufficient and the amount required in excess of the funds avail-
11 able is as follows:
12 Current Expense Fund:
13 i Health Department $300.00
14 Section 2. That the expenditures made in excess of the amount of the budget
15 were for the protection and safety of the inhabitants of the City;
16 Section 3. That by reason of the facts stated, an emergency is hereby
17 declared to exist which will require the issuance of emergency warrants to provide
18
for said expenditures in amounts required, the payment of such warrants to be con-
19 sidered in the preparation and adoption of budgets for the respective departments;

Section 4. That the 1dayor and Citiare hereby authorized to execute, sign and
21 :deliver emergency warrants upon the Current Expense Fund for the required expendi-
22 tures not to exceed the sum mentioned in Section 1 hereof;
23 Section 5. That because of the facts, the adoption of this ordinance is urgent
24 and necessary for the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of the
25 ;City, which emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall take effect
26 and be in full force from and after its passage, approval and lawful publication.

Passed third reading and finally passed and adopted by the City Commission
