HomeMy WebLinkAbout1089• • ORDINANCE NO. 1089 1 AN ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the public health and safety; 2 7 requiring expenditures unforeseen; providing for the issuance of emergency warrants; 3 and declaring an emergency making the ordinance immediately effective. 4 5 llil CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGRIFS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That because of unforeseen and unexpected additional cost for 6 wages and material for the maintenance and improvement of streets which was not and, 7 j could not have been anticipated at the time of preparing the budget for the Street 8 i Department in the City Street Fund, the amount provided for in the City Street Fund 9 is not sufficient and the amount required in excess of the funds available is as 10 follows: 11 ' City Street Fund $13,000.00 12 Section 2. That the expenditures made in excess of the amount of the budget 13 were for the protection and safety of the inhabitants of the City; 14 Section 3. That by reason of the facts stated, an emergency is hereby de- 15 1 clared to exist which will require the issuance of emergency warrants to provide 16 for said expenditures in amounts required, the payment of such warrants to be con - 17 sidered in.the preparation and adoption of budgets for the respective departments; 18 Section 4. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, 19 sign and deliver emergency warrants upon the City Street Fund for the required ex- 20 penditures not to exceed the sum mentioned in Section 1 hereof; 21 Section 5.
