HomeMy WebLinkAbout1091ORDINANCE NO. 1091 1 AN ORDINANCE providing for the establishment and maintenance of a Police De- 2 partment in the City of Port Angeles; repealing Ordinance No. 503; providing for 3 and declaring an emergency; placing the ordinance in full force and effect after 4 its lawful publication. $ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OP PORT ANGELES AS FOLLOWS: 6 Section 1. ESTABLIMENT -- EMPLOYEES. That the Police Department of the City 7 of Port Angeles is hereby established, and shall consist of officers and employees 8 as follows: A Chief of Police, Captains of Police, Lieutenants, Sergeants, 9 Juvenile and Identification Officers, Traffic Officers, Patrolmen, and such other 10 I officers as may be determined necessary for the proper conduct and administration 11 of the Department. 12 Section 2. Members of the Police Department shall receive such monthly 13 salaries as may be provided by ordinance from time to time. 14 Section 3. That Ordinance No. 503 of the City of Port Angeles and all other 15 ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and said ordinances are 16 hereby repealed. 17 Section 4. This ordinance is declared to be urgent and necessary for the im- 18 mediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants and 19 people of the City of Port Angeles, and shall take effect and be in full force im- 20 mediately upon and from and after its passage, approval and lawful publication. 21 : Passed first reading by the City Commission, September 10, 1941. 22 Passed second reading by the City Commission, September 10, 1941. 23 Passed-third reading and finally passed and adopted by the City Commission, - T -- 24 September 17, 19,41. 25 Ao Approved andlsigned by the Mayor, September 17, 1941. 26 Mayor 27 Attest: " ''x 28 29 27 //1�✓ G ym City Clerk Approved a- o----form: 30 31 Published t3' ttorney , 19141.
