HomeMy WebLinkAbout1128ORDINANCE NO. 1128 AN ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the public health and safety; requring expenditure unforeseen; providing for the issuance of Emergency Tarrants; declaring an emergency making the ordinance immediately affective. THE CITY COP1bIISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That on account of the necessity of replacing old decayed wood pipe in the Later System between 8th Street and First Street and Cherry Street and Lin- coln Street, the cost of additional Hydrants, tools, pipe and pipe fittings, insur- ance and labor was not and could not have been anticipated at the time of preparing the budget, and the amounts provided in the Water Fund are not sufficient and the amount required in excess of the funds available is as follows: Water Fund $25,000.00 Section 2. That the expenditure made in excess of the amount of the budgets is for the protection and safety of the inhabitants of the City. Section 3. That by reason of the facts stated, an emergency is hereby declared to exist which will require the issuance of Emergency Warrants to provide for the said expenditures in amounts required, the payment of such warrants to be considered in the preparation and adoption of budgets for the departments. Section 4. That the L yor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, sign and deliver emergency warrants upon the Water Fund for the required expenditure not to exceed the sum mentioned in Section 1 hereof. Section 5. That because of the facts, the adoption of this ordinance is urgent and necessary for the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of the City vhich emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall take affect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and lawful publication.
