HomeMy WebLinkAbout1136ORDINANCE fi0. 1156 AN ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the public health and safety; requiring expenditures unforeseen; providing for the issuance of emergency warrants; and declaring an emergency making the ordinance immediately effective. THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That because of the Federal Governments requirements in the operation of the Police and Fire Departments and the additional cost of supplies needed to meet the demands required And additional cost of labor needed to come• piste certain Park iaprovemente, which said additional costs were not and could not have been anticipated at the time of preparing the budgets for certain of, the State Aid mod, the Motor Vehicle Excise Fiend, the War Liquor Tax Fund and the Park Fund, the amounts provided in the budgets of departments affected are not sufficient and the amounts required in excess of the funds available are as follows: Motor Vehicle .6xcise Fund State Aid Fund War Liquor Tax Fund Park Fiend 525.00 V 700.00v 400.00 400.00 r Section 2. That the expenditures made in excess of the amount of the budget were for the protection and safety of the inhabitants of the city; Section 3. That by reason of the facts abated, an emergency is hereby declared to exist which will require the issuance of emergency warrants to provide: for the said expenditures in anounts reouired, the payment of such warrants to be considered bn the preparation and adoption of budgets for thezespective departmente; Section 4. That the Mayor and City Clerk, are hereby authorized to execute, sign and deliver emergence warrants upon the funds affected for the ree quired expenditures not to exceed the suns mentioned in Section 1 hereof; Section 5. That because of the facts, the adoption of this Ordinance is urgent and necessary for the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of the City, which emergency is declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and lawful publication. Passed first reading by the City Commission December 27, 1944. Passed second reading by the City Commission December 27, 1944. Passed third reading and finally passed and adopted by the City Commission, January 3, 1945. Approved and signed by the Mayor January 3, 1945.
