The City Commission of the City of Port Angeles does or- Bain as follows: A.? ectio ...1. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1129 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 5. It shall be the duty of every person in possession, charge, or control of any dwelling, flat, rooming house, apartment house, trailer camp,. hospital, hotel, school, club, restau- rant, boarding house or eating place, or in possession, charge or control of any public or private place of business or manufacturing establishment where garbage, refuse, trash or offal is or may be created or accumulated within the city at all times from and after the date this ordinance becomes effective, to keep or cause to be kept portable cans of approved size, type and construction as here- _ Iinafter provided; and to depostt or cause to a be deposited such ac- .. 1 cumulation therein except as hereinafter provided. "It shall be compulsory to take garbage service as above provided, within the city limits of port Angeles, except as herein iprovided, Every residence within the City of Port Angeles receiving water from the City Water Department shall be charged for garbage service at the minimum rate herein provided of seventy -five (8.75) per month. "All garbage deposited in containers, as herein provided, must be wrapped in paper or other suitable material. • "All containers for trash and rubbish deposited by places of business must be of a type and in such location as meets with the approval of the Superintendent of City Sanitary Department." Section 2. Section 12 of Ordi ance No. 1129 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 12. Rates for service at residential properties shall be seventy -five (g.75) cents per month, which charge shall cover a collection and disposal of all garbage, trash and waste matter placed in proper containers in compliance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1129, Provided that the full amount of such charge shall be rebated to those families or persons certifi ednby the County Welfare Department to be indigent." Section 3. This ordinance is necessary for the preserva- tion of the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Port Angeles and shall take effect and be'in full force on and after July 1, 1946. 1 t May Passed first reading by the City Commission -& ,z7 ,1946.
