HomeMy WebLinkAbout1179• • ORDINANCE NO. 1/ Jd'J ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the pub- lic health and safety; requiring expenditures unforseen; provid- ing for the issuance of emergency warrants; and declaring an emer- gency, making the ordinance immediately effective. THE CITY COLLUSSION OF TEL CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS I'OLLOWS: Section 1. That because of the unforseen and unexpected necessity of purchasing property as a site for a playfield on lower Cherry Hill in said City, and because of the further urgency of acquiring the same at this time for the reason that if not acquired there will not be vacant and suitable property available far said purpose in the future, which expense was not, and could not, have been articipated at the time of preparing the budget for the Park Fund, the amount provided in said Park Fund for capital outlay is not sufficient and the amount required in excess of the funds available to cover said expenditure is Twent3 =five hundred (2500.00) Dollars. Section 2. That the expenditure made in excess of the amount of the budget is for the protection and safety of the in- habitants of the City. Section.3. That by reason of the facts stated, an emergency is hereby declared to exist which will require the issuance of emergency warrants to provide for said expenditure in the amount required, the payment of such warrants to be considered in the pre- paration and adoption of the budget for the Park Fund. Section 4. That the Mayor. and City Clerk are hereby author- ized to execute, sign and deliver emergency warrants upon the Park Fund for the required expenditure not to exceed the sum mentioned in Section 1 hereof. • Oection 5. That because of the facts, the adoption of this ordinance is urgent and necessary for the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of the City, which emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage, approval and lawful publication. Passed first reading by the City Commission February 11,1947. Passed second reading by the City Commission February 11,19L7. Passed third reading and finally passed and adopted by the City Commission February j? , 1947. Approved and signed by the Mayor February /9 , 1947.
