HomeMy WebLinkAbout1256ORDINANCE NO. 12 5'6 An Ordinance relating to rates and service charges for the use of water supplied by the City of Port Angeles, amending Ordinances No. 778 and 1076, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 7 of Ordinance No. 778 of the City of Port Angeles, passed April 22nd, 1925, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: • Section 7: The fee for the installation of a water service shall be as follows: For a three - fourth (3/4) inch connection, $30.00, for sizes larger than three- fourths(3 /4), or when it is necessary to open a paved or oiled street, the charge shall be the actual cost of labor and material plus ten per -cent (10 %) for overhead. The applicant, when applying for service shall deposit with the City Treasurer, the amount estimated to cover the cost of in- stalling such service. If upon completion of the installation of such water service, it shall be found that such deposit is insuffic ient to cover the cost thereof, the applicant shall pay the differ- ence to the City Treasurer prior to the turning on of water to such service. If there shall be an excess of such deposit, over such installation cost, such excess shall be returned to the applicant. A change in the size of an existing and installed water service made at the request of the owner or occupant of the property served, shall be deemed to be a water service installation within the meaning of the foregoing and the above provisions as to fees and deposits shall apply thereto. From and after the effective date of this Ordinance, no water, service smaller than three- fourths (3/4) of an inch shall be in- stalled. SECTION 2. That Section 3. of Ordinance No. 1076 of the City of Port Angeles, passed o0 p,���,� may �/qy0, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3. That Section 39 of Ordinance No. 776 of the City of Port Angeles be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 39. The monthly rates for use of water other than measured by meter-shall be known as "Fixed Rates ", and shall be as follows: Base Rate - -- - ;?1.60 For this Base Rate customer shall be entitled to yard faucets d to one cold and one hot water tap, in connection with one sink hand one lavatory. For each connection to City Service, not less than the Base Rate shall be charged and in addition thereto, the following rates shall be charged and imposed: For each bath (tub, shower or combination) .25 For each toilet .30 Foreach public urinal .55 For each extra lavatory or sink with faucet- - - - .15 For each set of laundry fixtures with faucet - - - .15 The minimum monthly charge for water supplied at Fixed Rates lishall be as follows: For 3/4" or smaller service connection w 1.60 For 1" service connection 2.85 For 1 -2" service connection 3.60 For 2" service connection 6.10 For 3" service connection 12.50 For 4" service connection 18.75 The City Current Expense Fund shall pay for water service as i' follows: 1I For each fire hydrant, per month 'i' 1.25 For each flush tank for sewer flushing,per month 1.00 For all other purposes the charges per month shall be the same as those charged private consumers. -2- The minimum monthly charge for water supplied through a meter shall be as follows: For a 3/4" or smaller meter For a 1" meter - - For a lti" meter For a:2" meter For a 3" meter For a 4" meter For a 6" meter 1.75 3.00 3.75 6.25 12.50 18.75 37.50 The rates for water supplied through a meter shall be as I' follows per month or fractional part thereof: Per 100 Cu. SECTION 3. Except as herein changed and amended, Ordinances No. 778 and 1076 of the City of Port Angeles shall in all other respects remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4. It is hereby declared that this ordinance is :necessary for the immediate protection of the public health, welfare and safety of the people of the City of Port Angeles, that an emergency exists, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
