AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1250 of the City of
Port Angeles entitled, An Ordinance relating to and providing for
the regulation of taxi cabs and for -hire cars; providing for the
inspection and control thereof, fixing the rates to be charged
therefor, and for the licensing and controling of drivers thereof,
defining offenses, prescribing penalties and repealing Ordinance
No. 1156 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith ".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN
as follows:
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1250 of the
City of Port Angeles be amended to read as follows:
Section 2. TERMS:
(a) The term "person" wherever used in this ordinance
shall be held and construed to mean and include natural persons of
either sex, firms, copartnerships, associations, and corporations,
whether acting by themselves, by servant, agent or employee. The
singular number shall include the plural and the masculine pronoun

therein, shall not be construed to mean or include the term ambulance

,render ambulance service or use any vehicle so licensed for ambu-

Section 2. That Section 17 of Ordinance No. 1250 of the
City of Port Angeles is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 17. SCHEDULE OF RATES TO BE FIXED:
Every person, association, copartnership, firm or cor-

kporation conducting or carrying on the business of transporting
'passengers in vehicles for hire, shall file with the Chief of Po-
lice a schedule of rates, fares and charges for services, a copy
of which schedule shall also be posted, at all times in a conspic-

uous place in every vehicle operated by such person, firm, copart-
I'nership, association or corporation, and which schedule and the
rates and charges set forth therein shall be and constitute the
only lawful charges to be made by the owner or operator of any such
vehicle for the use or hire thereof or transportation of persons
I! therein. Any other or different charge for the use or hire of any
such vehicle or the transportation of any person therein made by
the owner or operator of any such vehicle shall be deemed to be a
violation of this ordinance, and shall be punished in accord with
!I the penalties herein provided for.
Section 3. That except as herein changed and amended
(Ordinance No. 1250 of the City of Port Hngeles shall in all other
respects remain in full force and effect.

Section 4. This ordinance shall be effective five (5)
,days after its passage and publication in the manner provided by
law.
