HomeMy WebLinkAbout1307• ORDINANCE NO. % AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming the assessments and assessment roll of Local Improvement District No. 162 of the City of Port Angeles created by Ordinance No. 1293, passed January 2$ 1953, which ordered and provided for the improvement of certain streets and alleys in the City of Port Angeles by the construction and laying therein of certain lateral sanitary sewers, all in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 162 of the City of Port ILAngeles and the plans and specifications adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles, ordering the levy and collection of said assessments and creating a special local improvement fund for ii said District No. 162. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI TY OF PORT ANGWLES DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. That the assessments and assessment roll of Local Improvement District No. 162 created by Ordinance No. 1293, approved and passed on the 2nd day of January, 1953, which ordered and provided for the improvement of the following streets and alleys of the City of Port Angeles by the laying and construction therein of certain lateral sanitary sewers as follows, to wit: Columbia Street from a point approximately ten (10) feet East of the Westerly boundary line of Lot Sixteen (16) in Block Two (2) of Puget Sound Cooperative Colony's Subdivision of the Townsite of Port Angeles, Westerly for a distance of approximately Five Hundred Thirty -Seven (537) Feet to a manhole in the intersection of Columbia Street with Chambers Street, and from a point approximately Ten (10) West of the Easterly boundary line of Lot Seventeen (17) in Block Three (3) of Puget Sound Cooperative Colony's Subdivision of the Townsite of 'Port Angeles, Easterly to such manhole in the intersection of ,Columbia and Chambers Streets, and Chambers Street from such man- , ihole in the intersection thereof with Columbia Street South to a { manhole in the intersection of Chambers Street with the alley run- , ning through Blocks Four (4) and Five (5) in Puget Sound Cooperative Colony's Subdivision of the Townsite of Port Angeles, all in the City of Port Angeles, Washington, by the construction and laying therein of a lateral sanitary sewer, including all necessary labor and material for the complete laying, construction and installation thereof with all necessary wyes, connections and manholes, all in accordance with Resolution No. 162 and the plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and adopted by the City Council sitting as a Board of Equalization thereon on the 4th day of June, 1953, according to regular notice thereof, and according to law, and the ordinances of the City of Port Angeles, and in accordance with the findings and order of the City Council of the City Council as a Board of Equalization at said meeting in said City, be and the same are hereby, in all respects, approved and confirmed in all things. Section 2. That each lot, tract or parcel of land shown upon said assessment roll is hereby declared to be especially benefited by said improvement in at least the amount charged against the same, and that the assessment appearing against the same is in proportion to the several assessments appearing on said assessment roll, and there is hereby levied and assessed against each said lot, tract, or parcel of land appearing on said roll, the amount actually charged and assessed against the same. Section 3. That there is hereby created and established for said Local Improvement District No. 162 a special fund to be known and designated as Local Improvement District Fund No. 162 for the uses and purposes provided by law and the ordinances of the City. , Section 4. That said assessments or any of them may be paid without interest at any time within thirty (30) days from the date of the first publication of the City Treasurer's notice to • • pay the same as required by law to be given, and all assessments not paid within said thirty (30) day period shall thereafter be paid in ten (10) equal annual installments with interest thereon at the rate of five (5) per cent per annum. Section 5. Assessments or installments thereof, when delinquent shall in addition to the interest bear a penalty at the rate of five (5) per cent for such delinquency. Section 6. That immediately upon the taking effect of this Ordinance said assessment roll shall be turned over to the City Treasurer for the collection thereof, who will thereupon proceed to collect the same according to law. Section 7. This Ordinance shall be in fall force and effect upon its passage by the City Council, signed by the Mayor, from and after five (5) days of its publication as provided by law.
