HomeMy WebLinkAbout1371ORDINANCE NO. 1 7/ An ordinance vacating a portion of Liberty Street lying between Fifth Street and Lauridsen Boulevard in the Original Townsite of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington. WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by the owners of more than two - thirds (2/3) of the abutting property, re- questing the vacation by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, of those portions of Liberty Street lying between Fifth Street and Lauridsen Boulevard in the Original Townsite of Port Angeles on which abut certain lots hereinafter described; and whereas, the City Council of the City of Port Angeles did on the 17th day of May, 1956, pass a resolution fixing Thursday, the 5th day of July, 1956, at 8:00 P.M. in the Council Room in the Police Department Building at Front and Oak streets in Port Angeles, Washington, as the time and place for the hearing and determination of said petition; and whereas, due legal and timely notice of the public hearing on the matter of the vacation of said street has been given in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Angeles having held said hearing in the manner provided by law and no objections to such vacation being presented and the City Council being fully advised is of the opinion that the vacation should be granted as requested in said petition; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1: That those portions of Liberty'Street .lying between Fifth Street and Lauridsen Boulevard in the Original Townsite of Port Angeles on which abut the following described lots: Lots 1 and 18 in Block 190, Lots 1 and 18 in Block 211, Lots 1 and 18 in Block 220, Lots 1 and 18 in Block 279, Lots 9 and 10 in Block 189, Lots 9 and 10 in Block 212, Lots 9 and 10 in Block 219, and Lots 9 and 10 in Block 280 all in the Original Townsite of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington • be, and the same are hereby vacated; provided, however, that the City of Port Angeles reserves the right to exercise and grant easements with respect to said vacated portions of Liberty Street for the construction, repair and maintenance of all public utilities and services, together with the right to operate, maintain, repair and replace any such utilities. Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after its passage, approval, signing and lawful publication.
