HomeMy WebLinkAbout1498ORDINANCE NO. /5/9g' AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles declaring an emergency, and making transfers between certain funds. WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the 1962 Budget no fund was established for construction of the swimming pool, it be- ing felt that the funds from the sale of the bonds would be suffi- cient; and WHEREAS, it was necessary to spend funds in excess of the bond issue to secure a first class swimming pool due to the necessity of making an interest payment on the bonds, legal ex- penses, pool equipment, and other matters; and WHEREAS, an emergency existed requiring the expenditure of these funds in the approximate amount of $7,200.00; and WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the 1962 Budget the lunexpended surplus at the close of 1961 in the Current Expense Fund was overestimated since the budget had to be made up months prior to the close of 1961, and some estimated expected revenues payable the Current Expense Fund will not actually be paid until 1963; and WHEREAS, there are ample funds in certain surplus accounts which can be used and repaid at a later date; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES as follows: Section 1. There is transferred from the budget item Light Department Surplus the sum of $30,000.00 to the Current Ex- pense Fund, which amount shall be repaid to the Light Department Surplus Fund out of Current Expense Funds in 1964. Section 2. There is transferred from the Park Department Surplus Fund the amount of $7,200.00 to the Swimming Pool Con- ' struction Fund, which amount shall be repaid to the Park Department • • Surplus Fund out of Current Expense Funds in 1964.
