ORDINANCE NO. /7,50
AN ORDINANCE amending a section of Ordinance No. 1696,
and providing for a sewage charge on premises not
previously covered.
BE IT ORDAINED as follows:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1696 is amended to
read as follows:
"Section 3. Hook -up.
"The owner or owners of each lot or parcel of real
property within the area served or to be served by the sanitary
sewage disposal system of the City of Port Angeles as it now ex-
ists or as it may be extended, upon which such lot or parcel there
is or shall be situated any building or structures for human occu-
pation or for any purpose requiring the use of water which will
produce waste shall forthwith cause a connection to be made between
said sanitary sewage disposal system and each such building or
structure. All premises within 300 feet of a sanitary sewer or
lateral thereof upon which any portion of such building or struc-
ture is situated shall be deemed to be within the area served by
such sewerage system. Provided that the City Manager, the City
Engineer and the City Sanitarian acting in consort may issue a
revocable permit waiving this requirement if in their opinion such
an installation is economically unfeasible due to topographic con-
ditions and a sanitary problem will not be created; however such
permitees shall be required to pay the monthly sewer charge to
help allay the overall cost of the treatment plant and interceptor
sewer system. Any person requesting such a permit and being de-
nied one may appeal the decision to the City Council within thirty
(30) days after receiving notice of denial of such permit. All
premises beyond the above 300 feet, and presently on individual
disposal systems but for which the treatment plant and interceptor
sewer are designed to accommodate, shall be required to pay a
monthly sewer charge of One Dollar ($1.00)."
