AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1831 pro- viding for the playing of cards in public cardrooms and social cardrooms, and regula- ting the same by establishing a fee for social cardrooms where no charge is made by the operator of said social cardrooms to those who play cards therein. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES as follows: Section 1. Section 23 of Ordinance No. 1831 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 23: Cardrooms shall pay to the City of Port Angeles Finance Department a sum of ten percent of the gross income derived from cardrooms licensed by the Washington State Gambling Commission; excepting that social cardrooms where no charge is made by the operator thereof to those playing cards therein shall pay to the City of Port Angeles Finance Department the sum of $100.00 for each year of operation. The ten percent of gross income referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be paid not later than 20 days from the period it is reported, as set forth below: January 1st through March 31st April 1st through June 30th July 1st through September 30th October 1st through December 31st. The annual fee provided above for social cardrooms where no charge is made to the players shall be paid not later than 10 days from the end of each calendar year. Existing social cardroomspaying the fixed fee established by this section shall pay $75.00 for the year 1975. Social cardrooms commencing operation after the effective date of this Ordinance shall pay a fee pro -rated as of the time they are in operation during their first year. Section 2: All other provisions of Ordinance No. 1831 shall remain in effect, excepting as amended by this Ordinance.
