HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927• ORDINANCE NO. /W7 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles vacating portions of "D" Street, alley in Block 454, and 19th Street, Townsite of Port Angeles, at the Clallam County garage. WHEREAS, a petition is on file with the City of Port Angeles to vacate portions of "D" Street, alley in Block 454, Townsite of Port Angeles, and Nineteenth Street; and WHEREAS, all of the legal requirements have been met including the holding of a public hearing thereon by the City Council; and WHEREAS, said vacation appears to be of benefit to and in the interests of the public; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES as follows: Section 1. That portion of "D" Street abutting Blocks 454 and 455 from the north right of way line of Lauridsen Boulevard to the south margin of 18th Street; together with that portion of 19th Street abutting Lot 11 of Block 455 lying north of the north right of way of Lauridsen Boulevard; together with that portion of 19th Street lying southerly of Lots 19 and 20 of Block 454 and north of the north right of way line of Lauridsen Boulevard; and together with that portion of alley in Block 454 from the west margin of "D" Street to the west lot lines of Lots 2 and 19 in Block 454; all in the Townsite of Port Angeles, is hereby vacated so long as Clallam County is the owner of the abutting lands and uses such lands for public purposes. Section 2. Upon the request for and furnishing of a quitclaim deed qualifying the conveyance with a possibility of reverter as in Section 1 hereof, the mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such quit claim deed. Section 3. Pursuant to RCW 35.79.030, the City reserves the right to exercise and grant easements over the vacated portion of said streets and alley for the construction, repair and mainten- ance of public utilities and services. Section 4. The city clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the Auditor of Clallam County. • PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles and approved by its Mayor at a regular meeting of the Council held on the 20th day of June, 1977.
