HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930ORDINANCE NO. /930 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles vacating a portion of 14th Street and portions of the alleys in Blocks 397 and 412, Townsite of Port Angeles, at Stevens School. WHEREAS, a petition is on file with the City of Port Angeles to vacate a portion of Fourteenth Street and portions of the alleys in Blocks 397 and 412, Townsite of Port Angeles; and WHEREAS, the requirements of RCW Chapter 43.21C,of the State Environmental Policy Act, have been met and a public hearing has been held by the City Council following public notice pursuant to RCW Chapter 35.79; and WHEREAS, said vacation appears to be of benefit to and in the interests of the public; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES as follows: Section 1. Those portions of the street and alleys des- cribed below are hereby vacated so long as the Port Angeles Public School District No. 121 is the owner of the abutting lands and uses such land for school purposes: Alley in Block 397 from the westerly line of Lots 4 and 17 to the easterly line of Lots 4 and 17. Fourteenth Street from the westerly line of Lot 16, Block 397 and the westerly line of Lot 5, Block 412 to the east- erly line of the West half of Lot 16, Block 397 and the easterly line of the West half of Lot 5, Block 412. Alley in Block 412 from the westerly line of Lots 5 and 16, to the easterly line of the West half of Lot 5 and the easterly line of the West 25 feet of Lot 16. ALL within the Townsite of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington. j / / 65,m e d . P +--e ( d s(re Tr Provided, that if 14th Street/- a turn - around area shall be constructed on the easterly end of that portion of vacated Fourteenth Street described above, and such turn- around area shall meet the specifications of the Public Works Department for cul -de -sac ends. • Section 2. Upon the request for and furnishing of a quitclaim deed qualifying the conveyance with a possibility of reverter as in Section 1 hereof, the mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such quitclaim deed. Section 3. Pursuant to RCW 35.79.030, the City reserves easements over the vacated portion of said street and alleys for the construction, repair and maintenance of public utilities and services. Section 4. The city clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the Auditor of Clallam County.
