BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES as follows: Section 1. Section 24.23 of the Code of the City of Port Angeles (Michie 1960) is hereby amended to read as follows: (A) Monthy Residential Flat Rate: Each service shall be $8.95. (B) Monthly Residential Metered Rate: (1) The following monthly minimum charges are applicable to water service to single family residences within the corporate limits of the City of Port Angeles. For the purposes of this ordinance, "single family residences" are defined as structures designed for occupancy by a single family only, con- taining a complete kitchen unit. Structures which are not "single family residences" include, but are not limited to, duplexes, four - plexes, apartments, and rooming houses. The charge is based upon size of the service line, and not size of the meter. The charges are as follows: Service Size Minimum Rate Per Month 5/8" Service 5.30 3/4" Service 5.85 1 1/2" Service 6.45 2" Service 9.30 (2) Metered consumption shall be $0.22 for each 100 cubic feet consumed, regardless of size of service. (C) Monthly Industrial Metered Rates: (1) The monthly minimum charge applicable to water service to industrial customers within the corporate limits of the City of Port Angeles shall be $310.00 per month, regardless of size of service. For purposes of this • f 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 Ordinance, "industrial customers" are defined as customers whose average monthly potable water consumption is in excess of 350,000 cubic feet per month, where such average is computed by dividing total annual consumption of the customer for the most recent twelve month period by 12; provided, that this rate shall not appll, to public wholesale customers of the City, whose rate shall be established by contract. (2) Metered consumption shall be $0.28 for each 100 cubic feet consumed. (D) Rural Monthly Metered Rate: (1) The following monthly minimum charges are applicable to water service outside the corporate limits of the City of Port Angeles. The charge is based upon size of the service line, and not size of the meter. The minimum charges are as follows: Service Size Minimum Rate Per Month 5/8" or 3/4" Service $ 9.80 1" Service 13.75 1 1/2" Service 18.40 2" Service 30.00 4" Service 92.00 6" Service 185.00 (2) Metered consumption shall be $0.46 for each 100 cubic feet consumed, regardless of size of service. (3) No additional services shall be granted out- side the corporate limits of the City. (E) All Other Monthly Metered Rates: (1) The following monthly minimum charges are applicable to all water services other than those provided under Subsections (A), (3), (C), and (D) of this Section, within the corporate limits of the City of Port Angeles. The rates are as follows: Service Line Minimum Rate Per Month 5/8" or 3/4" Service $ 7.00 1" Service 9.85 1 1/2" Service 13.15 2" Service 21.40 3" Service 44.40 4" Service 66.00 6" Service 132.00 8" or 10" Service 200.00 (2) Metered consumption shall be $0.50 for each 100 cubic feet consumed, regardless of size of service. Section 2. Severability - If any provision of this ordinance, or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or application of the provisions of the ordinance to other persons or circumstances, is not affected. Section 3. Savings - If any provision of this ordinance, or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, then the provisions of Ordinance 2040 applicable to that person or circumstance shall be revived, and shall be applicable and enforce- able. Section 4. Repeal - Ordinance 2040 is hereby repealed. Section 5. Emergency - The City Council hereby finds and declares the existence of a public emergency and that the foregoing ordinance is necessary for the protection of public health, safety, and welfare; therefore, said ordinance shall become effective June 1st, 1980.
