HomeMy WebLinkAbout2135ORDINANCE NO. a /3 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles, establishing areas within parks within which coin recovery is not allowed, establishing a permitted technique for coin recovery, and amending Sections 3 and 4 of Ordinance No. 2132 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES, as follows: Section 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2132 is amended to read as follows: Coin Recovery - Where Allowed. (1) Those parks in which coin recovery is allowed are as follows: a. Lincoln i. 7th and "ID" b. Shane j. Kiwanis c. Lions k. 5th and Oak d. Webster 1. Georgiana Erickson m. 13th and Laurel f. Elks n. Haines Park g. Crown o. City Gym h. Wolverton (2) Those parks, or areas of parks, dn which .coin covery is not allowed is as follows: a. Civic Field g. Cemetery b. Canyon Edge h. James c. Central i. Civic Pier d. Lincoln Park ball field area e. Shane Park ball field area f. Elks Playfield ball field area (3) No metal detectors may be used for coin recovery in an occupied camn site, or within 300 feet of any building located within a park. Section 2. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 2132 is hereby amended to read as follows: Coin Recovery - Permitted Tools.& ?Method. (1) Only blunted ice picks, long shank screwdrivers not over ten inches in length, blunted awls, or a knife not over six inches in length may be used to retrieve coins. (2) The recovery of coins shall be achieved through penetration of the soil with a permitted tool. The opening for extraction of the coin shall not be larger than two (2) inches in diameter. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after publication.
