Aril AN ORDINANCE of the City Council of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, authorizing the City Director of Finance and Administrative Services to use bank checks for purposes of paying claims against the City's self- insurance program for health and welfare benefits. WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles has entered into an agreement with John A. Soderberg Company, a firm in the State of Washington, for providing administrative services in support of the City's self - insurance program for health and welfare benefits; and, WHEREAS, the City desires to minimize service charges and administration procedures related to the self - insurance system; and, WHEREAS, the use of bank checks instead of warrants carries lesser banking service fees; and the election for the use of bank checks is permitted by RCW 35A.40.020; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, as follows: Section 1. The City Director of Finance and Administra- tive Services is authorized to use bank checks for the payment of health claims in accordance with RCW 35A.40.020. Section 2. The firm, Rainier National Bank of Washington, is designated as the bank whereon such checks are to be drawn. Section 3. The following employees of the John A. Soderberg Administration Company of Seattle, Washington, are hereby authorized to execute checks on behalf of the City of Port Angeles for payment of claims incurred against the City's employee health and welfare self- insurance program: 1. Lawrence C. Thompson, Vice- President for Employee Benefits. 2. Mary Anne Dohr, Account Representative. 3, Nyda May, Claims Manager. 4. Jacguie R. May, Account Representative. Such employees shall be bonded, in a minimum amount of $10,000. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at a regular meeting of the Council held on the /5 day of December, 1981.
