HomeMy WebLinkAbout2256ORDINANCE NO. 07075c AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles reclassifying property located at 819 - 833 East Front Street from CAD -R to CAD. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Port Angeles has held a public hearing and recorded its recommendation to the City Council in the Planning Commission Munites of May 11, 1983; and WHEREAS, the requirements of the State Environmental Policy Act have been met; and WHEREAS, the City Council, after a public hearing, finds that said rezone would be in the best interests of the City and of its citizens and in keeping with the Comprehensive Plan; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES as follows: Section 1. The Official Zoning Map, Ordinance No. 2158, and Ordinance No. 1709 are hereby amended to change the zoning of the following described property from CAD -R, Commercial Arterial District - Restricted, to CAD, Commercial Arterial District: Lots 14 - 18, Block 38, Norman R. Smith's Subdivision to the Townsite of Port Angeles. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the Clallam County Auditor. WITNESS my hand and official seal this 8th day of June 1983 . cam. ;4 City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles, Washington MEMORANDUM May 31, 1983 TO: City Council FROM: Planning Departme RE: Hartnagel Rezone - File No. RZ- 83(5)4 Wednesday, May llth, the Planning Commission voted 4 - 1 to recommend that the property be rezoned from CAD -R to CAD, citing the following findings of fact: 1. The rezone complies with Commercial Policies 1, 2 and 7 of the Comprehensive Plan. 2. CAD Zoning would be consistent and an appropriate land use on both sides of Front Street. The minority vote stated there were other means, such as Zoning Code amendments, to accomplish the applicant's wishes. (Mr. Holm and Ms. Ross did not participate in the hearing or vote because of the appearance of fairness doctrine.) A copy of the Department Report is attached for the Council's convenience. Staff will be available to respond to questions the Council may have. (If the Council concurs with the Planning Commission recommenda- tion, a motion to adopt the attached ordinance, citing the Planning Commission's findings of fact, would be appropriate.)
